 BAKED STUFFED APPLES

Ingredients:
  • 6 apples
  • 6 teaspoons golden raisins
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • whipped cream for garnish
Preparation:

Wash the apples. With an apple corer or apple knife, remove the core and seeds from each. Place the apples in a glass baking dish.
Wash a golden raisins in warm water and place 1 teaspoon of raisins and 1 tablespoon of sugar brown sugar in the middle of each apple. Pour the 6 tablespoons of water around the apples.

Bake in a hot oven until tender. Test the apples for sufficient baking
with a fork or skewer. During baking, occasionally "baste" the apples (take spoonfuls of the water from around the apples and pour it on the top of them. 

NOTE: Time for baking apples varies with the kind of apple and the temperature of the oven. Usually rom 20 to 40 minutes at 400 degrees F. Serve warm or cold. 

Before serving, garnish with whipped cream. Makes 6 servings.
